Arlington Heights, IL - Robert Charles Bixler, 85, passed on December 18th, 2025 at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL.
He was born May 3, 1940, Chicago, IL to Harry James Bixler & Phyllis Marion (Benson) Bixler. He had two sisters: Eileen Kay and Janet Lynn. He graduated from Moline (IL) High School in 1958, and Roosevelt University, Chicago in 1964.
On December 22, 1962 he married Vicki Burroughs, daughter of Cliff & Mary (Pooley) Burroughs, in Greene, Iowa. They are the parents of Roy, Shaun, Maren and Lara.
Bob worked as a systems analyst for Allstate & Dean Witter for over 30 years. He loved the outdoors: camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, cycling, jogging & cross country skiing. He completed 10+ Birkebeiner Cross-country Ski races, the Appalachian Trail & the Chicago Marathon. He volunteered at Chicago Botanic Garden.
He is survived by his wife Vicki, 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter & 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandchild, Margaret E. Marusek.
Services are Jan 17th @, 2 pm at Community Presbyterian Church, 407 N. Main St, Mt. Prospect, IL
