Patricia Dale Sokody

Patricia Dale Sokody of Elgin, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on February 3, 1940, Patricia lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and her community. Patricia was married to Philip on December 17, 1966 and were married for 34 years before his passing in 2001. They were blessed with three daughters.

Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Harris; her brother, Bert Harris; and her husband, Philip Sokody.

She is survived by her three daughters: Pam Engle (Rich) of Fort Mill, South Carolina, and daughters Sydney Engle and Madeline Jordan (Adam), and great-grandson Sequoia; Paula Wilding (David) of Wheaton, Illinois, and daughter Noa, and sons Nathan and Micah; and Penny Spaniel (Dylan) of Tucson, Arizona.

A member of the Elgin High School Class of 1958, Patricia served on the class reunion committee for many years. She was a devoted member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Elgin for over 50 years, where her faith guided her life and where she formed many lasting friendships. Her gift of hospitality was shared with her loved ones and with many others over the years.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on Monday, January 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Elgin, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
