Elgin, IL - Lawrence I. Crisanti, 81, of Elgin, passed away on May 7, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born on July 31, 1943, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Joseph and Lorraine (Couillard) Crisanti. Larry graduated from the University of Illinois Law School in 1968 and the Military Law Program at the University of Virginia in 1970. From 1968 to 1972 he served in the Army Judge Advocate General Corps as a Captain. During his service, he received the Bronze Star, taught comparative law at the University of Saigon Law School, defended and prosecuted military personnel and was the Staff Judge Advocate for IV Corps in Vietnam. In addition to the Military Court of Appeals, Larry was eventually licensed to practice law in Illinois and Florida.Larry practiced law for 53 years in Elgin, most recently with Bazos, Freeman, Schuster and Pope, LLC, and previously with Crisanti & Young, P.C. Larry was a Past President and trustee of the Kane County Bar Association.Survivors include his wife Diane E. (Witte) Crisanti of 57 years; his son Michael (Roxanne) Crisanti; his two daughters Heather (Timothy) O'Rourke, and Amy (Paul) Neurauter; six grandchildren: Nicholas and Alexander Crisanti, Madeline and Ryan O'Rourke and Logan and Lindsey Neurauter; and a brother Charles (Linda) Crisanti.Larry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Joseph Crisanti and Salvatore Crisanti.A funeral Mass for Larry will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10:30am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. Private burial at Mount Hope Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Larry's life later in the summer.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin, IL.
