Lauran Fox-Jurka
Lauran Fox-Jurka, 72, of Johnsburg, IL, passed away on January 7, 2026. A woman whose presence could brighten any room, Lauran lived her life with a rare combination of joy, generosity, and unwavering compassion.
Born into a loving family, she was preceded in death by her father, Larry Fox, her mother, Bernice (nee Niva) Fox, and her sister, Brenda Fox. Their influence helped shape the kindness and strength she carried throughout her life.
For more than 40 years, Lauran worked as a beautician- a career that became far more than a profession. Her chair was a place of comfort, conversation, and connection. Clients became friends, and friends became family. She had a gift for making people feel beautiful, valued, and understood.
Lauran embraced life with a passion that inspired everyone around her. She spent countless days boating on the Chain O'Lakes, a place she cherished deeply, and she loved traveling to new destinations. Each journey expanded the circle of people touched by her charisma, warmth, and easy laughter.
Her generosity extended far beyond her work. Lauran donated her time to help in many different areas, always stepping forward when someone needed support. Helping others wasn't something she did, it was who she was.
Lauran is survived by her devoted husband, Lee, who shared in her adventures, her joys, and her boundless love of life; her brother, Larry Fox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lauran leaves behind a legacy of kindness, connection, and a spirit that encouraged others to live fully and love deeply. Those fortunate enough to have known her will carry her light forward.
Funeral Services will be held privately. All arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. For more information, please call 847-223-8122 or visit www.StrangFuneral.org.
