Barrington, IL - Kendra Churchill Berg Croll, of Barrington, Illinois, world traveler, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 82, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Born on April 16th, 1943, and adopted by Donald Lester Berg and Monta Miriam Churchill Berg of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Kendra lived a life marked by curiosity, connection, and a remarkable gift for friendship.

Talented and active, Kendra was a state champion speed skater in her youth and an accomplished pianist who performed at Ravinia in her late teens.

She attended Glenbard West and graduated from Penn Hall school for girls, and then Penn Hall Junior College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. She also attended University of the Seven Seas, traveling to Asia, West Europe, and behind the Iron Curtain, on a 110-day, 22,000 mile voyage. She continued her studies in Barcelona, and lived in London and New York.

Kendra started her family in Chicago, and then moved to Barrington. She built a successful career as a broker for Merrill Lynch Realty. She later became a Relocation Specialist for Prudential in Chicago and then Scottsdale.

Kendra was active in the Barrington community. She was a member of Second Set play group, The Contemporary Club, the Presbyterian Church of Barrington, various book clubs, and supported Brookfield Zoo.

Above all, Kendra built a full and joyful life around her children, her grandchildren, and the many friends she held dear. She treasured her annual Christmas card, featuring all nine grandchildren wearing the holiday outfits she bought for them each year.

She is survived by her three children, Bryan (Johanna) Croll of Barrington Hills, Illinois, Stacey (Derek) Reiber of Portland, Oregon, and Steven (Kerry) Croll of Andover, Massachusetts; and her nine grandchildren, who were the great joy of her life.

She is also survived by her sister Kristen Diefenthaler, niece Kendra Ann Locke, and nephew Erik Mickelsen.

A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Barrington on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Afterward, there will be a reception at Barrington Hills Country Club from 12:00-3:00PM.
