Able Feb. 21, 1924 - June 9, 2016 They say it should get easier I don't find this to be true For each and every turn I take I catch a glimpse of you Your military service Korea, WWII - of course Aboard the "Boxer" Sailing ocean clear and blue Each holiday, I see you there So very proud and glad To stand at full attention Saluting our Great flag But as you stand - my mind relives Your feelings loyal and true How fitting now for me to lift My hand saluting you Treasured moments etched in time Fragments from the past, There is no joy my heart feels now It's frozen - at Half mast But life goes on Not easy to bear Somehow just let me say this It's so terribly hard to really let go And finally GIVE UP THE SHIP!
