Rosedale, MD - Frances Evelyn Altman passed away March 20, 2026.

She was born September 5, 1937, in Los Angeles, CA. Was preceded in death by Charles Altman, her husband of 53 years and their son, Scott. She is survived by a daughter, Karen and granddaughters, Allison and Hannah, all of Perry Hall, MD. Graduated from Roosevelt University, Chicago. Managed National Hot Dog & Sausage Council for 15 years for Viscofan. As a communicator, she worked for Chicago newspapers including The Chicago Sun Times and Arlington Herald. Before Retiring taught at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond. Authored nine juvenile books and several biographies; was a member of National Federation of Press Women and Maryland writers.
