Carol E. Matt Obituary

Carol E. Matt

Carol E. Matt (nee Middleton), 91, a longtime resident of Elk Grove Village, IL, left us to be with Jesus on Nov. 28, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona.

Carol was a devoted wife to the late Lawrence G. Matt; loving mother of four daughters: Diane Matt, Kimberly Harrington, Susan Colgan, and Barbara Frank; and the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carol is also survived by her twin sister, Ethel (Prim) Middleton of Palatine, Illinois.

Carol was preceded in death by her father and mother, Frank and Ethel Middleton; sister, Elaine Vandenberg, and brother, Robert Middleton.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Carol was a registered nurse at South Chicago Hospital and Saint Alexian in Elk Grove Village. Carol's smile lit up the room! Beautiful inside and out, she welcomed everyone she met with kindness and an open heart. Married 64 years, Larry was the love of her life and she so looked forward to the time where she would be with him again in Heaven. Carol also shared an eternal bond with her twin sister Prim, a bond only rivaled by her love of chocolate! She loved music , singing, and dancing and will be greatly missed. May she rest in God's peace.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6th, from 10:30 AM until time of Funeral Service 11 AM at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
